Was there a time long ago, when the Earth had a much better and highly civilized populous? If so, where did their advanced knowledge come from, and how was it eradicated from the face of the planet? Archaeological evidence suggests that ancient civilizations possessed at least some technologies that we no longer have at our disposal today. For example, the Egyptian pyramids which still stand, some buried deep beneath the desert sands, were designed according to architectural specifications that modern builders have not been able to replicate. The sheer geometric quandary of it all makes one wonder whether the ancient builders might have been, or could have been, assisted by extra-terrestrial visitors.

One of the most intriguing topics in archaeological history is the presence of seemingly inexplicable structures from antiquity that can be found in several corners of the world. From the ruins at Stonehenge to the headstones on Easter Island, to strange crop circle formations seen only from space, some of the structures we have no explanation for. We neither know why they were created, nor what purpose they might have served. Yet, speculation exists as to what may have brought some of the structures into existence.

Some people representing the Mohawk Nation, along with the International Tribunal into Crimes of Church and State, are claiming that human bone fragments recently discovered at what was once the Mohawk Institute in Ontario, Canada, are indicative of crimes committed there. The Mohawk Institute was once a residential school servicing First Nations children who were evicted by force from their homes. A team of forensic archaeologists from the U.S. and Europe has launched an investigation into this matter.

Currently, the wedding dress is becoming once more a piece of fascination among young teenage girls, thanks to a major event in popular culture. The latest installment in the mega-popular Twilight movie saga has been out in theaters for three weeks now. It is the first of two movies being made of a single novel from Stephenie Meyers’ series of books about the immortal love between a 100 year old vampire and an all American teenage girl. The movie has already made more than $500 million worldwide, and inspired a top notch fashion designer to create a replica wedding gown that can be bought for about $800 USD.

Throughout the recent history of literature, Sherlock Holmes has been the world’s most cunning detective. The series of mystery novels about him has produced several cinematic features since the 1940s. The latest venture into the Holmes franchise has been the most successful to date, and another film is due to hit theaters later this month.
In the sequel to last year’s blockbuster, Sherlock Holmes, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows promises even more rollicking adventure and mystery solving. I was fortunate enough to view the official trailer for the film last month while seeing another movie in a theater, and it got me revved up for this new one.
